Privacy Policy
Effective September 28, 2026
Alai Notify ("Alai") is a client for notification servers that you choose. The developer of Alai does not operate a service for the app, does not collect any data from it, and has no access to your messages, credentials or usage.
Data the app does not collect
Alai contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking code, and sends nothing to the developer.
Servers you add
Alai communicates only with the notification servers you add. It sends those servers what they need to deliver your notifications: your sign-in credentials or access token, the topics you subscribe to, messages you publish, and, for instant delivery, your device's Apple push token with your topic list. How a server stores or uses that data is governed by whoever operates it, which is usually you.
Data stored on your devices
- Credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain.
- Received messages, topic settings and preferences are stored in the app's local storage and shared with its widgets and notification extension through an app group.
- Messages are added to the on-device Spotlight index so you can find them in iPhone search. Deleting a message or unsubscribing from a topic removes it from the index.
- If you use the Apple Watch app, your server addresses, credentials and topic list are sent from your iPhone to your paired Apple Watch so it can fetch messages itself.
Deleting the app removes this data from your devices.
Apple services
Push notifications are delivered by Apple Push Notification service, and app distribution and updates are handled by the App Store and TestFlight, under Apple's privacy policy.
Children
Alai is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
