Privacy Policy

Kural Podcasts ("Kural") is a podcast player. The developer of Kural does not operate a service for the app, does not collect any data from it, and has no access to your library, listening history or credentials.

Data the app does not collect

Kural contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking code, and sends nothing to the developer.

What the app connects to

• Podcast hosts. Feeds, audio and artwork are downloaded directly from each podcast's own addresses, as with any podcast player.
• Apple's podcast directory. Search terms you type in the Search tab are sent to Apple's public iTunes Search API to find shows. No account or identifier is sent with them.
• Apple Music, if you turn it on. Kural uses Apple's MusicKit to browse and play your Apple Music library and catalog, and to add songs to your playlists and favorites. That data stays with Apple; Kural doesn't store or send it anywhere else.
• Your iCloud account. Your subscriptions, playback positions, played and saved episodes and Up Next are synced through your private iCloud database, which only you can read.
• Your PinePods server, if you add one. Signing in is optional. The server address, username and password you enter are used only to sign in to that server; the resulting API key is kept in the iOS Keychain. Your library and listening state are synced with that server, which is operated by you or whoever you chose to trust.

Data stored on your devices

• Your library, downloaded episodes, settings and the automation activity log are kept in the app's own storage and shared with its widgets through an app group.
• If you use the Apple Watch app, the current episode and Up Next are sent from your iPhone to your paired Apple Watch.

Deleting the app removes this data from your device. Data in your iCloud account can be removed in the Settings app under your Apple Account, iCloud.

Apple services

iCloud sync, app distribution and updates are provided by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

Children

Kural is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

Changes to this policy are published on this page with a new effective date.
